DR. SAMUEL B. HALL BUILDING (1908)

Dr. Samuel Black Hall (1864-1933) practiced medicine in Clinton for nearly half a century. The grandson of David Hall, a soldier in the American Revolution and one of Anderson County’s earliest settlers, Dr. Hall was committed to serving the community. The big Market Street fire of 1908 destroyed the building that housed his practice, leading him to quickly build this structure, completed before the end of the year. His son, Dr. James S. Hall, joined him in this practice in 1921. Dr. Hall was a charter member of the county medical society and a member of the first Clinton City School Board.A beloved physician, Dr. Hall was known for his sense of humor and his ability to cheerfully inspire confidence in his patients.
