This lot and a house that formerly rested upon it, on the corner of what was then Commercial Street and Dail Alley, was purchased by the Standard Motor Co. in 1928 from R.C. and Lular Cox. The Clinton Motor Co. and the Moser family – Robert, Lavinia, and Robert Jr. – were in possession of the property by 1931-32. Robert A. Moser is said to have been the first automobile dealer in Clinton, opening his Ford dealership in 1914 on Market Street. He also served as the principal for Clinton High School 1914-1917. Moser relocated the dealership to another Main Street location in 1927. Clinton Service Station was present on this site for many years.
